Maj Kullberg, violin

Maj Kullberg trained as a violinist at the Royal Academy of Music in Århus and with leading international teachers. Including a year of quartet studies with the Emerson String Quartet at the Harrt School of Music in Connecticut, where she won the school's Talent Award.

She is also a recipient of among other honours the Grant of the Leonnie Sonning Foundation.Since 2000 she has been a member of the European Union Chamber Orchestra and she has worked as a principal in several orchestras, including the Malmö Opera Orchestra, where she has been engaged since 2002 and has had many soloist tasks.

It is especially as a chamber musician that Maj Kullberg has made her name at concerts all over Europe and as a frequent guest in Danish chamber music societies. Per Nørgård has written May Moon Music for Maj Kullberg.
